Shopping!

My room mate Mrs. SC, Mrs. Kentucky and I got a wild hair to go shopping. Not 5 minutes before we were in the pool enjoying the hot weather and warm pool water (not to mention prickly pear margaritas), though I was the only one that would get my hair wet and still be seen in public!
We stopped in the lobby to take some photos with the other delegates while we waited for our taxi. Big mistake not to clean up a little better before going out!!! Ha ha! Everyone is so pretty!

We're Back! It's not like we needed all the things we got, but the sales were so good! We added Mrs. Maine and Mrs. New Hampshire to our shopping expedition. We had fun even in the heat.

I'm Off To The Mrs. America Pageant!

Wow! To my surprise I was picked up and delivered to the airport in a limo driven by our own Lyle Newcomb, pageant auditor! Thanks Lyle! Thanks Libby! What a way to start my pageant experience.
Libby's traditional Portland Airport photo! I'm so glad the packing is done and I'm off to Tucson.

My children were so excited to ride in a Limo! My oldest son missed out since he was at camp. Oh, did I mention that I was upgraded to first class by the airlines! Yea! When I got to the Tucson airport I met the film crew at baggage claim. My room mate is Mrs. South Carolina. We arrived at about the same time and it took us hours to unpack and get settled. She is so funny and we are becoming fast friends. She's already in her PJ"S since she's on East Coast time. I'll get pictures tomorrow. Ta Ta for now! More tomorrow.....

Who Will Be Mrs. Oregon 2008?

I had so much fun meeting the contestants for the 2008 Mrs. Oregon Pageant. They are all wonderful women and I'm sure glad I'm not a judge. If I had my way they would all win the crown! Pictured next to me is Mrs. Oregon 2003, Patricia Nutbrock, who is part of the pageant staff.

Clackamas County Fair and Parade

What a wonderful day at the Clackamas County Fair! I spent time with Mrs. Clackamas County, Evelina, the Fair Court and Miss Rodeo Oregon. We were all guests of honor at the opening ceremonies and featured on stage.
Evelina and I spent some time with local dignitaries and we were treated so kindly by the whole staff of the Fair. Her son was our official photographer!
The Clackamas County Dairy Princess was part of the festivities.

Everyone loved the PT Cruiser donated for me to use in the parade by a local car dealership.

Miss US Earth Pageant

The Miss US Earth Pageant was held in Portland for the first time. I am pictured here with the newly crowned Miss Earth Lisa Forbes and her court. I love the colored crowns for the runner's up.
This is the outgoing 2006 Miss Earth, Amanda Pennekamp.
I had fun meeting other royalty like Miss Earth US Virgin Islands who was in attendance at the pageant.

Parades and the National Anthem Project

This photo was taken during the annual Miss Oregon Parade in Seaside. A rare sunny and warm day on the Oregon coast!
My children and I attended the St. Paul Rodeo Parade on July 4Th. My director, Libby Crawford, decorated this cool truck donated by Vic Alfonso Cadillac and we won 1st Place!

The National Anthem Project is the supported by the Mrs. America Pageant. I taught these children the National Anthem. They kept singing it even after class was over. There's nothing like the National Anthem sung by a group of 5 and 6 year olds!
